Role Playing Games
Project Summary
For over three years, I've assumed the role of a weekly Dungeon Master and also player, in multiple gaming systems such as Spire, Dungeons & Dragons, Never Going Home, etc.
This journey has involved managing multiple groups and primarily handcrafting narrative experiences for my players (NPCs, Villains, Items, Maps, Quests, New gameplay mechanics, etc.).
Elements Learned
Via this ongoing project, I've gleaned valuable understandings:
The skill of crafting interesting histories for my players, but most significantly, being able to adapt the narrative to their personal needs, tastes and spur-of-the-moment choices.
Storytelling is a gorgeous art that can be a challenge to master but really fun to experiment with and play around with.
The ability to occasionally bend and re-do an existing rule system to boost player involvement with the game and add some extra fun.
Learning new tooling sets and especially 2D engines such as Roll20 and now Foundry VTT.
